Carbon Market Watch responded to the public consultation on the Legal framework for the possible use of international carbon credits towards the 2040 EU climate law target. The consultation gathered evidence and feedback from stakeholders on the potential use of international carbon credits toward the EU 2040 climate target. The public consultation was open from the 9th of February 2026 to the 4th of May 2026 and it consisted of a survey and a call for evidence. Our response to the survey can be read below.
